I'm truly asking, so here goes:
1. Loud print babydoll dress with black tights and boots for a wedding? What if it was a softer print? Winter wedding, afternoon. Does Utah matter? They're not mormon.
2. Small bottle of my favorite green cleaning product, Mrs. Meyer's dishwashing liquid, as a hostess gift? It would be pretty.
3. Hand-sewing sock monkeys for my kids for Christmas?
4. Giving breakfast basket (pankcake mix, syrup, coffee, jam) AGAIN to step-sibling and family, although they specifically ask for suggestions (and purchase) off our list every year?

1. Neither is my cup of tea.
2. Yes.
3. Very much yes.
4. Yes.
1. I think I like option #1 better than #2 - though in general I think a wrap is more flattering than a babydoll. You can pull off bright colors and prints well though so you have no worries there.
2. Yes
3. Definitely yes (though I have no idea how complicated it is)
4. Hmmm...I am wavering...maybe a different theme basket? movie night/italian dinner/ soup/ tea & cocoa? A thumbs up to sticking with a family gift though.
1. Yes. Black is OK at weddings, if that is what you're getting at.
2. Yes. (that stuff rocks)
3. Yes. if you need help (though its seriously not that hard) let me know. I have one piece of advice I'll email that makes it much easier.
4. I like akj's suggestion to do a different theme.
1. Fashion? Um, you better ask somebody else 'cuz I'm not good at fashion advice.
2. Sure, as long as they're not known for having a sinkful of dirty dishes. Maybe some pretty sponges with it?
3. Awwww! That's so sweet!
4. Do you get and/or can you get a list from them if it bothers you? I don't see a problem with some kind of basket, but if you want to mix it up a little, I third AKJ's recommendation of a basket with a different theme. Love her ideas, some others might be family game night (a couple of board or card games, popcorn, etc.), or a "snowed in" basket (movie, game, hot cocoa, with a scarf for a bow), or vary the breakfast mix - say English breakfast this year with scone mix and tea and lemon curd or orange marmalade.
1. I too, prefer option 1. The colors would suit your coloring, but I'm no fashion plate so take my advice for what it's worth.
2. Yes.
3. I LOVE it! It would make a great way to remeber who got what for which year of Christmas....
4. I'd say baskets are good too, but I would also vary the theme. It's hard to afford the things some people would put on a list, but you really should go with your gut instict.
May I add a bath basket for a couple- with towels, bath gels, lotions, bubble bath, candles?
If they have kids, maybe a craft fun basket with a Christmas ornament project or two, craft idea book, paints, beads, ribbons,....
